Self
At the Ike I have over come many obstacles. Like getting along with people I may not like very much and learning to set aside my differences with others and get along. Also
learning to do things even though i might not want to. To me these are very good things that i have struggled with in the past but being here at the Ike has helped me break through those.

Resolution
This summer I plan to work all summer then come next fall I plan to go to OYCP. It is a
five month boot camp and it is most likely the only way I will graduate high school. After that I plan to finish my senior year at my original high school. Then move on to become a carpenter. I really would like to study business in college and start my own carpentry business.

Inhabitants of the Ike
My inhabitants at the Ike Box has been great. I have made a lot of new friends. Pretty
much every one who has been in the class I have been friends with. And the only way I lost a friend is if they left the Ike, and I just didn't keep in touch. I have got along with everybody at the Ike Box. The experiences here have been amazing. They have been so much fun and i have learned so much. Not only about school subjects but also about people and how different we can be but still connect and get along really well. I don't think I have had a bad experience at the Ike. Everything has be so much fun and a
great learning experience.

Crashing at roberts
I crashed at the Ike because I was picked. I came here because I was told but i stayed because i liked the class. I was at Roberts because i had been in a lot of fights and got kicked out of my old school. I had the choice to be at the Ike Box or Roberts and I chose to try the Ike out. I liked it so I stayed. I think it was better for me to end up here because I was doing a lot better than at Roberts and my old high school.
Benefits of trees
There are many many benefits of trees, such as they are homes to a lot of animals and other plants too. They also provide shelter and food for animals. The roots help the soil stay rich and full of vitamins. They are also homes to many small insects.

The Northern Spotted Owl
The nocturnal Northern Spotted Owl (Strix occidentalis caurina) inhabits old growth forests full of large dead trees for nesting. It ranges all along the pacific coast from southern British Columbia all the way to northern California. It nests on ledges and in cavities in abandond nests left by other animals. The largest threat to the Northern Spotted Owl has always been logging. The removal of old growth forests have greatly effected the population of the owl by leaving it with no home and taking away its food sources such as flying squirrels, wood rats, birds, reptiles and other small mammals.

The beast from the sky
I think that the beast is a hawk. Or some kind of really big bird. In the story the twins talk about teeth and everything, but I think that they were just scared and over
exaggerating.
I think that the kids will end up making peace with each other and end up being rescued. I think when the reality of it all really sets in they will realize that they cannot survive if they are fighting.

Gun Control
I don't think any laws should be made against guns. I completely agree with the saying "guns don't kill people kill people". I don't think laws should be changed against guns but against how people get guns. In my opinion everyone should have a certain level of training and licenses before being able to own a gun. Maybe this would let more people know the power a gun can have and the damage it can cause. Maybe if people experience
this first hand they will be less likely to pull the trigger. And more likely to keep there guns away and locked up. If people required certain licenses this would prevent just anybody walking into the gun store. I think it is a right for Americans to carry guns. For both sport and protection. But not just any body should be able to own a gun.

Christopher Gardner
I am really passionate about becoming a carpenter. Since I was like fourteen I have done carpentry work with my uncle. Since then I have wanted to pursue a career in carpentry. And I plan on doing so. To achieve my dream I will need to graduate high school and some levels of college. At this point I am very behind credit wise in high school. To graduate on time I am going into a five month boot camp program that will put me ahead of the rest of my class. I know the road to my career is going to be tough , but that is why I am planning ahead and getting prepared now for what might come in the future. The night was really fun. I really enjoyed everything Chris said. It really amazed me how after all he has been through he is so happy and funny.

Alone
I think it is good to be alone some times. Like me, I am a very social person but occasionally I need to be alone to think and gather my thoughts. Everyone has to have some time to get things together in their head. It can be a relief to be alone and away from all the drama in life. Like a cool down time. Or a time to clear your head so you don't get stressed out. I love to be with people but sometimes it feels really good to be alone and think.

Vandalism
I think all of these are terrible. All of them cost people time and money, that could be used and spent on better things. I don't think there is a better or worse. Vandalism is vandalism. I mean obviously throwing a peace of trash in the country side will not hurt some one as much as d-railing a train by throwing a rock onto the tracks, but both cause damage and hurt people.
1.Throwing stones onto a railway line - 2.setting fire to a school - 3.damaging a phone box - 4.breaking street lighting - 5.throwing eggs at cars and homes - 6.breaking glass in a bus shelter - 7.damaging seats on buses - 8.painting graffiti on a public building - 9.Putting dish soap into a fountain

Young people & destruction
I think it is the feeling of having power over something else. Usually the adults have control and power over everything, so when a young person gets to feel that it feels good. Which in my opinion makes us so attracted to destruction.
Also it is a good way to release anger. And to me a young person would rather take their anger out physically then in a more healthy way.

No rules
I think that if there were no rules the world would be chaos.I think people would take it to far and destroy society. But I wouldn't. If there were no rules I would be at trails all day and then drink at night. But I would not let it get out of control. I think most people would do a lot of dumb thing to ruin everything.

Space living
If everyone lived in space I think we would all live in floating houses and drive flying cars. I think we would have all the same clothes but they would be made into space suits. so we would have like nikes with little rockets on the bottom. And Old navy and Nike space suits. Stuff like that. Because if we lived in space normal clothes would do no good so companies would make space suits.

The best advice....
The best advise I have ever received is probably "if you hang out with barbers, eventually your gonna get a hair cut". It means like if I hang out with people that smoke weed, and I don't. Eventually it will happen. My dad told me this when I was getting into a lot of trouble. It really did help me because I pretty much told my friends that if you do this still wont hang out with you. At first I thought this saying was stupid but the more and more trouble I got in with friends the more and more I understood it. Now allot of my life goes by this. I mean pretty much if I don't like what some one does like smoke weed or steal just don't hang out with them. Don't get me wrong I still get in some stuff with my friends but all of my friends know not to do certain things around me. And they all respect that.

Rite of passage
I think a rite of passage is things that are supposed to happen when you reach a certain age, such as, getting your license when you turn sixteen, or graduating high-school when you turn eighteen. pretty much things that symbolize that you are reaching a new stage in your life. License I have experienced the rite of passage of getting my permit and have the chance to get my license. I am looking forward to turning eighteen and experiencing the rite of passage of moving out.

When i die...
When I die I want people to remember me as a fun loving, adventures, bike riding, adrenalin junkie, family man. Pretty much in those exact words. I want to have accomplished a lot through out my life. I want to become a professional bike rider. And have a great family. A wife and kids. And own my own indoor skate park to make a living. And i will still ride through out all of these years.

Censorship
I think that censorship is a good thing. I think in the privacy of ones home they can do whatever they want. But out in the public and on normal cable television things should definitely be censored. Some might say if you don't like it don't look at it, but what about children. The kids are going to see these things. And yes one day they will and they will learn about it but I don't want my four year old brother and two year old cousin to be watching t.v. and accidentally flip the channel and seeing sexual content. Or be walking down the street and seeing that stuff on billboards and buses. There needs to be some level of censorship. Allot of people just say it is for art purposes but if that is the kind of art you enjoy to see or draw then put it in a place where children are not going to see it.

Parental consent on abortion.
If abortion was illegal no abortions should be done. With or without parental consent. If it is illegal it should not be done at all. But with parental consent being required allot less teenage women would have abortions because their parents would not let them. I don't see why a teenage women would have an abortion I mean look at my mom she was 16 raising my older brother and 18 raising me. She did not have any abortions and now she has six kids of her own and done very well for herself and all of us kids. In-fact allot of my friends moms were pregnant at like 16 and they are doing fine now. I think allot of teenage women would have abortions because they think it will ruin they're life. But with a parental consent required parents will not let kids have them done. If parents have to approve pretty much everything in a kids life why would this be different. This is even bigger than a tattoo or anyhting else this is taking a life so why wouldn't the parents need to be involved. Besides a teenage girl who finds out she is pregnat is obviously scared and not going to make a logcal decision. They are just going to take the quick escape and make the decision that they think is best at the time. But being that scared most teenage girls would not be in the right state of mind. But with a parental consent required the parent could stop the kid from making a big mistake that they will regret later.

Cannabis... Should it be legalized?
I don't think weed should be legal. I do think that it would raise the crime rate. I don't totally agree that it will increase the use of white drugs in some cases this is true but not all. I mean I know people who have smoked weed all of there life and never even tried other drugs, but hose people also act like children and are not mentally mature like they should be. And being mentally immature will definitely create a problem in the community. After a few years of almost everybody smoking pot we will basically have a bunch of kids running our city. That cannot be good at all. Besides when people smoke large amounts of weed they become unmotivated. So pretty much everyone would most likely not have jobs and increase crime and make things harder for those people who do work hard for what they have. Now it might not happen with every one but most people who smoke all the time loose all motivation and after a while they will not want to do much of anything but smoke weed. I have had many people in my family who struggled with drug problems and smoked weed for many many years. They are not very successful in life. My real dad smoked for many years and I'm pretty sure he still does and being mentally immature and trying to raise a child and not only one but two kids, that just doesn't work. Him being so immature made him do allot of stupid stuff, which made things bad for me, my mom and my sister. In my opinion if my dad would have never smoked weed he never would have tried all of the other drugs and he would have been mentally where he was supposed to and things would be very different. I think if more people smoked weed there would be more cases like mine. And I am sure if it was legal more people would smoke it.

Gennetically modified children
I don't think I would participate. It is a really big risk. What if something went wrong and my child was deformed because of a choice that i made. I wouldn't risk it. Besides I would want my kids to have some of my traits not something completely different.
There is no telling if something cold go wrong and mess my child up.

McKinley reflection
The thing I liked best abut our McKinley trip was how funny some of the kids were. It was really funny to see all of these kids act some of the same ways i did when i was their age. The hardest aspect of the was getting the all of the kids to listen, and being really patient even though we were crunched on time. I think it was really good for the kids because maybe they will now be interested in learning about video production. I think it was a fun learning experience for everyone involved.

What i hate...
What I really hate is the things police are more worried about. Like how they harass bike riders about riding in certain spots and are always bugging us about every little thing, when there are people sitting around at the transit with drugs and weapons. We are just trying to have fun and do something constructive. I see bikers being harassed downtown than all of the druggies or gang members. It is ridiculous. There are more important things than stopping us from riding that the police should be worried about. From what i see the police downtown are more worried about arresting bikers or writing tickets than stopping gang members and stopping people from selling and doing drugs at the transit and the park. I cant tell you how many times I have seen bikers being harassed when there are people smoking out right there in the park giving it bad name. Also right there at the transit where the police are most of the day, I can ride up and smell weed but the police are sitting there yelling at me for riding my bike on the sidewalk instead of getting these people who are right there doing illegal drugs.

What I really love is...
What I really love is, my family, and my bike. I really love my family, it is always so fun to be hanging out with them. Nothing is predictable and that is what I like. There is never a dull moment when I'm with my family. Never. I also love my bike. It is like a big stress reliever when I am riding it. It is so much fun. It is such a thrill to ride. There is no rush like clearing a big gap or landing a big trick. No adrenaline rush could be better.

Identical twins
I think that the two twins would be very different. The wealthy one would would most likely be used to getting whatever they want whenever they want it. While the poor one would be used to working for everything that they need and want. They're attitudes will most likely will be very different too. One would be more snobby (the wealthy one) and the other would be more down to earth and nice (the poor one). Their attitudes would be completely different. I think even if they were raised with the same amount of money just in different settings, they would still have different attitudes and ac different, because being in different settings and experiencing different things wold make them different weather different amounts of money were involved or not. Different experiences and problems would make their actions different along with their outlook on things and their attitude towards things. Also educaion opertunities will be different. The more wealthy one will have beter opportunities than the one who does not have as much money. So it would really set a better futer for for the wealthy one.

Valued thing in my life
A possession i value very much is my bike. It is very important to me for many reasons. I love to ride, it always helps me calm down when i am angry or stressed. It is also very fun and i am so care free when i am riding my bike. I have also put a lot of money into it. One person i value a lot is my older brother. We are really close and he is always there for me when i need someone. He is definitely my best-friend and very important to me. An idea i value very much is the idea to make abortion illegal. I think it is wrong and no one should have it done.

Respect, Responsibility, Reality
-In my opinion respect should look like listening when others talk, and not putting others down. Respect is important to me because if no one respected others there would be a lot more fights. Besides who likes to be disrespected.
-In my opinion responsibility is, being on time and completing work that is given to you. To me responsibility is important to help prepare people and keep order.
-"Whenever respect or responsibility issues are ignored, you will be held accountable". To me this statement means that you are accountable for your actions. So being disrespectful or irresponsible may come with consequences.

Capitalism vs Socialism
In my opinion capitalism is the dominant economic system. If a person works hard and is successful they have the right to be wealthy. Why should a person who works they're butt off get the same amount as a person who doesn't and doesn't deserve what the hard worker does.

Plant and animal cells
The difference between a prokaryotic cell and a eukaryotic cell is, a prokaryotic cell does not have a nucleus or any other organelle, but a eukaryotic cell has a true nucleus. Animal and plant cells are a lot alike but there is also a few differences such as animals have skeletons to hold its structure, but plants do not. The plant cells have what is called a cell wall, to hold its structure. Also the plant contains a cell called chloroplast which allows plants to harvest energy from the sun. Animals though, do not..

I don't think companies advertise too much. I mean people have to get their product out there for people to see. If you do not want to see the advertisements change the channel or just do not look at them when you see them on a billboard or a bus or in the news paper. Wouldn't you advertise your business as much as possible. I have never felt overwhelmed by advertisements, and i don't see how any one would. If you were a business owner you would do the same thing if you wanted a successful business, i know i would. A lot of people think that advertisements are sometimes inappropriate for the viewers, but i think that if you are advertising a product that is meant or adults it is okay to show things that are okay for an adult to see. Putting these advertisements in places where children would see them is not okay however, such as children's television stations, or parks where children might play.

Stay at home wives
I think that housewives Should get something for their work. If they have kids though. If the wife has no kids she has no reason to not have a job. Unlike a wife with children. The women that has children should get money for taking care of the child. For a little extra help. If the husband/father is working the mother usually has to stay home to care for the children. There is the option of daycare so that the women can work also, but in that case most likely one of the parents pay check or at least most of it will go to the day care. Then there is almost no point to the wife working because her money goes to the daycare. So i think housewives with children should get some extra money for it.

White Christmas?
I say yes. I was dreaming of a white Christmas. When it snowed on Christmas day I really was hoping that the snow would start sticking and that it would keep snowing. Mostly because i love the snow. Also because it being christmas makes it better. I love it when it snows especially on Christmas.
